VENUE: Kolomna State Pedagogical Institute, rest home “Severka”, situated in a picturesque place not far from Kolomna on the banks of two rivers - the Moskva and the Severka.
Kolomna is a unique, quiet, ancient city in Moscow Region, Russia, founded in 1177.
Whatever existed in Kolomna in previous times, it is still here. Nothing has disappeared completely from its face. It is a marvelous city lit up by the sun of antiquity. Dmitry Donskoi, Ivan the Third and Ivan the Forth considered Kolomna their own town. It was there that they convened their troops to repell enemies, and it was there that they built temples and monasteries in honor of their war victories.
Kolomna has always been a seat of spirituality. There are plenty of ancient monasteries, convents and churches that date back to the 12th-13th centuries.
Now Kolomna is an important industrial center and educational center of the South-East of Moscow Region.
